I've been experiencing some muscle pain lately, which I think it's totally normal and will eventually go away. I mean, I am new to all this ANA thing, so it's only natural that my body needs adjustment.
What do you girls out there think? And what do you do to reduce it?
I just took a very warm shower and I feel a lot better now! :)
I think a warm shower us about all you can do for muscle pains. Just try not to over stress them too much.
ReplyDeleteYou said in an earlier post that you were just dieting to loose 30 pounds - be careful you don't get hooked on this, the more you loose the more you want to loose. I'm sure you know when to stop, I just thought I should say something :)

Yay! :D That is all I needed to hear!
ReplyDeleteThanks girl! xx
I am a chronic over-exerciser so I am familiar with pain. The three things I do to avoid it are 1) Stretch. I spend almost as much time stretching as I do working out. It's more important to physical health than people realize, and especially with reduced intake it can be very dangerous not to. So give those muscles a little warm up (because stretching cold muscles does nothing) and give 'em a good stretch!
ReplyDeleteThe second and third are about my intake. So, 2) When muscles break down from working they need to rebuild to help with the soreness. You don't need to pile on the calories but make sure that a good portion of the calories you do consume are PROTEIN. It's so so SO important.
And the third goes along with it. Vitamins! Particularly Vitamin C!!! It is a great aid in helping the muscles rebuild. Also, if you aren't getting enough vitamins and minerals (calcium and magnesium are big muscle easers) your muscles can be extra sore. So find a good high quality, water soluble multi-vitamin. (Not fat soluble as those can build up in your system and make you sick or even kill you if you take too much. Water soluble ones will just flush out of your system if you take too much)
I highly recommend Shaklee brand Vita-Lea with Iron. It is a little on the pricey side but it is one of the HIGHEST quality vitamins you can buy. I find if I take a Shaklee multi-vitamin at least a few times a week I tend to feel pretty great. Even on little to no food.
Best of luck to you!
